Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) weight loss injections

Some patients can now get Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) injections on prescription from their GP or community clinic.

Not all GPs will provide prescriptions for this – in some cases, you will get the injections from another service.

Patients having this injection will also be supported to make changes to their lifestyle, such as support with diet and exercise. You must engage with this support.

Please do not contact the surgery or make an appointment to discuss weight loss medication. If you are eligible for this medication, we will contact you.

If you want to lose weight without medication, you can make an appointment with the GP or Nurse. You can also search online for ‘NHS Better Health’.

Who is eligible?

  • BMI of 40 or over (or 37.5 if from a minority ethnic background)

    AND

    At least 4 of the following conditions:
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • High Cholesterol
  • Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
